Lina Verveckken
Lina Verveckken (BE, 2002) is a Belgian freelance dancer and choreographer currently based in Antwerp, Belgium. She is known for her versatility as a performer, her sensitivity on stage, her musicality, and her deeply physical presence. While her main practice lies in contemporary dance, with a strong base in improvisation, she continuously explores other movement languages (currently investing in Locking (funk style)) as a way to expand her physical and expressive range.
From a young age, Lina’s relationship with dance grew out of a deep need to create, to generate and live through new experiences, and to feel intensely. This drive continues to shape both her performance and choreographic work, where physicality, intuition, and emotional resonance are central.
At the age of 14, Lina began formal training in ballet and contemporary dance. She studied at De !Kunsthumaniora Hedendaagse Dans in Antwerp from 2017 to 2020, and later continued her education at ArtEZ University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Dance Artist. During her internship year and the following season, she danced with Bern Ballett, performing a wide range of solo, duet, and ensemble work. In 2025, while with the company, she created her first professional production, Fond Affections, as part of the Tanzplatform Next Generation Program.
In November 2025, Lina performed in Café d’Amour, choreographed by Sophia Ebenbichler, under Laboratorio Danza in Ulm, Germany. From December 2025 until July 2026, she was a member of Gradient Kortárs Balett, under the direction of Edit Domoszlai.
Beyond dance, Lina is actively learning about music creation and playing the electric guitar. She is also interested in clothing design and has created costumes for her own productions. Additionally, her interest in the art of making dolls reflects her attention to detail.
Lina enjoys connecting with new people and has experience teaching ballet and contemporary dance to various age groups. Warm, curious, and open to collaboration, she continues to develop her artistic voice while staying grounded in the joy and passion that first drew her to movement and creation.
